I think I’ve mentioned before the thrill I get when a lover (whether real or cyber) sends me erotic photos of herself. (Or videos, of course.) Not so much because of the photos themselves, I can find a whole lot of sexy women with perfect bodies on Smutty without even breaking a sweat (and I’ve written before how much porn lovers like – need – variety), but because of the idea of the fact that this woman is taking a chance on sending this photo, just so that she can turn me on.

What’s the Relationship Between Masturbation and Sex?

The title of this post might seem like an obvious question, but I disagree (or I wouldn’t have written this in the first place).

In fact, I’ll start with an even more general question: What is masturbation? Is it a physical thing, releasing pent up energy? Is it an emotional thing? Is it related to lust? Does the situation surrounding the masturbatory event change the answer to this question?

Complicity in Revenge Porn?

I was reading a piece in HuffPo on the question of complicity in revenge porn: if you share lascivious photos of yourself with someone and that person ends up posting them as revenge porn, are you partially complicit in that for having shared the photos in the first place? (Just to remove any unnecessary suspense, my answer to the question is a resounding no.)

I’m an unrepentant multitasker. I’m often working on one or more work-related things at the same time that I’m chatting with people over instant messaging and maybe even writing blog posts for a blog about porn*, and I’m usually pretty good at prioritizing the various things I’m doing. (* Note: I may sometimes work on my porn-related blog posts at work, but obviously there are limits to what I’ll do at work. I don’t go browsing Smutty or attaching pictures to blog posts or anything – I don’t even view my own blog from the network at work. I just write the content for my posts, and then when I’m at home I’ll put them in Blogger and start pulling in pictures.) I have a pretty good poker face, so people around me will rarely be able to tell the difference between when I’m working and when I’m, you know, workin it.

Porn I Like: Erotic Fiction

Most of the porn that I write about or link to or obsess over is of a visual nature. The vast majority of porn I consume is in the form of pictures, and the next biggest category is video. (I’ve talked before about the reasons for that ratio: being married and keeping my porn consumption “under the table” means that I don’t often get a chance to consume porn with audio.)

However being observant – not to mention highly intelligent and quite sexy – you will have noticed that I’m pretty fuckin wordy. I mean sure, I sprinkle the occasional smutty picture around the blog, but I also talk a helluva lot. So you won’t be surprised to learn that I also enjoy erotic literature.
